CANNA Terra Seed Mix is an exceptional substrate designed to optimize seed germination and root development in cuttings. Its homogeneous and stable structure allows it to retain more water, giving seeds the best chance to germinate successfully. This mix is also perfect for nurturing young roots, providing the ideal conditions for robust growth.
Seed Sowing with Terra Seed Mix
- Place seeds in the Terra Seed Mix at a depth of 2 to 3 mm (maximum 5 mm) in a tray with a diameter not exceeding 5 cm.
- Regularly water the growth medium with water. Initially, seedlings will use the food reserves present in the seed.
- Keep seeds warm (20-25°C) and maintain humidity, for example, in a greenhouse. Remove the cover once the seedlings appear.
Caring for Young Plants
Young plants are delicate and should not be exposed directly to sunlight or placed directly under grow lights to prevent burning. Provide water with low electrical conductivity (1.2) and add CANNA RHIZOTONIC to strengthen the root network. Transplant seedlings when two to three leaves have developed.
Outdoor Cultivation
While seeds can be germinated directly in the outdoor soil, the success rate is significantly higher when germinated indoors due to more favorable soil temperatures. Gradually acclimate germinated plants to outdoor conditions by placing them in a sheltered spot, such as a balcony.
Transplanting and Further Growth
Once roots are well developed in the Terra Seed Mix, plants can be transferred to their final growing medium, such as CANNA Terra Professional, CANNA Terra Professional Plus, CANNA COCO, CANNA Aqua clay pebbles, or rock wool. CANNA offers specially formulated fertilizers for each of these media to ensure optimal harvests.
