For optimal results, AutoPot recommends using a well-aerated substrate mix with a high proportion of clay pebbles or perlite. An ideal mix consists of 50% perlite/clay pebbles and 50% coconut coir or soil. To prevent waterlogging, fill the bottom 3-5 cm of each pot with clay pebbles, or use an Airbase.
Regular cleaning of trays and the AquaValve is important for long-term use, preventing clogs caused by debris or roots.
